Kaspersky Cyber Insights | Southeast Asia

On Thursday, July 2, 2020, senior cybersecurity experts and industry analysts will get together at the much-awaited Kaspersky APAC Virtual Cyber Insights Conference 2020 to debate and deliberate on the top threats facing Enterprises in South East Asian countries – and what they mean for IT leaders and Security Decision Makers, in terms of incident response, business continuity and risk management. Participants will leave with clear, actionable intelligence on how to transform their cyber defense capabilities.

Cybercriminals are seeking to gain access to corporate networks – particularly in the post-perimeter era, which arises not only because of digital transformation but exacerbated by COVID-19 work-from-home imperatives. Against this background, how does cybersecurity need to evolve?

In this Virtual Summit, experts from IT and business will discuss the most dangerous cyber threat targeting Enterprises in South East Asia, where we will share recommendations to prepare for when – and not if – a cybersecurity breach happens. By joining, you will also be able to gain industry insights and understand what your peers are doing as 2020 ushers a new decade of proactive cybersecurity.

Participants will be able to join in the debate and ask questions to Kaspersky experts, peers and security industry analysts from IDC.

Welcome and Opening

Siang Tiong Yeo, General Manager, Kaspersky, South East Asia will welcome delegates to this year’s Cyber Insights, themed around Intelligence-driven Cybersecurity: Now and Beyond. Mr. Yeo will set the context why it is imperative for organizations to move from a reactive to a proactive security model, setting the agenda for the conference discussions.

APAC Threat Landscape and Kaspersky Threat Predictions

Vitaly Kamluk, Director, Global Research & Analysis Team, Kaspersky APAC will be analyzing key trends in terms of tools, techniques, and processes being used by cybercriminal groups against government organizations, enterprises, and critical infrastructures in APAC in recent years.

Keynote from CEO Eugene Kaspersky

Eugene Kaspersky, CEO and Founder, Kaspersky, will deliver his keynote address: From Cybersecurity to Cyberimmunity. The essence of cyberimmunity is to employ a level of protection such that the cost of an attack on a company exceeds the costs of possible damages.

Build Up Cyber Immunity with Advanced Threat Detection & Response

Victor Chu, Head of Presales, Kaspersky, South East Asia will speak about how enterprises can enhance prevention and detection capabilities by boosting their threat prediction capabilities. He will demonstrate how organizations can accelerate incident response and forensic capabilities by providing SOC teams with meaningful information about threats and global insights into what lies behind targeted attacks.

IDC Insights: Bringing Intelligence to Scale

Michael Araneta, Associate Vice President, Head of Advisory and Research, IDC Financial Insights, IDC APAC, will present his research on how financial services institutions are creating intelligence-driven organizations. As banks and insurers have steadily strengthened capabilities in understanding the psychology of customer behavior vis-à-vis cyber-threats, another focus has become evident for 2020 and beyond: bringing new intelligence to scale based on the understanding of what works for key stakeholders in the institution's cyber defense.

Panel Discussion: Cybersecurity during pandemic times

Let’s hear it from security experts and technology analysts about Cybersecurity best practices during the pandemic times, and how organizations can minimize security risks.

Eugene Kaspersky

Founder and CEO, Kaspersky

Eugene Kaspersky is a world-renowned cybersecurity expert and successful entrepreneur. He is a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Kaspersky, the world’s largest privately-held vendor of endpoint protection and cybersecurity solutions.

Eugene began his career in cybersecurity accidentally when his computer became infected with the ‘Cascade’ virus in 1989. Eugene’s specialized education in cryptography helped him analyze the encrypted virus, understand its behavior, and then develop a removal tool for it. After successfully removing the virus, Eugene’s curiosity and passion for computer technology drove him to start analyzing more malicious programs and developing disinfection modules for them. This exotic collection of antivirus modules would eventually become the foundation for Kaspersky’s antivirus database. Today the database is one of the most comprehensive and complete collections in cybersecurity, used in detecting and preventing systems from being infected by more than 500 million malicious programs.

Further pursuing his passion for defensive technologies, in 1990 Eugene started gathering a team of like-minded enthusiast researchers to create the AVP Toolkit Pro antivirus program, which, four years later, was recognized by the University of Hamburg as the most effective antivirus software in the world.

Wishing to combine their successful track record of antivirus programming with their entrepreneurial vision, Eugene and his colleagues decided to establish their own independent company. In 1997 Kaspersky was founded, with Eugene heading the company’s antivirus research. In 2007 he was named Kaspersky’s CEO.

Eugene has an Honorary Doctorate of Science from the UK’s Plymouth University. He regularly gives both lectures on cybersecurity at universities around the globe, and keynotes at leading conferences and industry events.
